Hunter ball
Type: dodgeball game
Number of players: 10 or more
Location: playing field
Equipment: ball
Duration: a few minutes
Preparation: none

Hunter ball is a very simple ball game. It is the base variant of many other dodgeball games with more complicated rules.

Equipment

  • one ball
  • probably markers for the borders of the playing field

Procedure

The players are split into two (probably even more) groups, that can move around the playing field freely. The groups try to hit each other with the ball; if the ball drops to the floor after a member of an opposing team has been hit, this player is out of the game. The last group to have at least one player in the game wins the round.

Depending on the players and the location you will have to define a few more rules:

  • may the ball be passed among the members of a team?
  • may you run while holding the ball?
