My left chair is free
My left chair is free is a simple game, suited for smaller children. It is played while sitting in a circle and is best played by 10 to 20 participants.
- each player should sit one a chair and you need one extra chair
The players are sitting in a circle, one chair is left empty. The player sitting just right of the free spot starts the game by saying:
My left chair is free, I call [NAME] to sit next to me.
The mentioned player then has to move to the free spot. This renders another chair empty. There, both neighbors put their hands on the chair; who can do that faster may call the next player.
You can also add a task when calling players:
... i call [NAME] to sit next to me [AS ANIMAL]
Then, the player moving to the spot has to imitate the respective animal while moving to his new spot. You can add all other kind of short and simple tasks to the game this way.
- A more active variation of this game is I am sitting in the green and love.
