Location: small playing field
Equipment: nothing, but best with music
Duration: 10-20 minutes
Preparation: none

The musical chairs extreme is a variation of the game musical chairs.

Equipment

You don't need any equipment, but it would be great if you could play some party music during the game.

Procedure

The players are split into two groups: chairs and normal players. There are slightly more players than chairs (1 or 2 more, depending on whether the group has an odd or even number of participants.

After a starting signal (or as soon as the music is played), all players and chairs are running around the room. At a stopping signal (or when the music stops), the chairs have to kneel down and offer sitting positions (they are chairs, after all). The players have to sit down on the chairs. Only one player per chair is allowed of course. Remaining players not able to snatch a chair drop out of the game.

After each round, some players are transformed from chair to player, so that again only one or two players more exist than the number of chairs is.

To make it not all too easy for the players, they may not sit on the same chair in consecutive rounds.

Of course, watch out the the game does not become too "active". None of the chairs should be hurt by players jumping on them from far.
