Type: tag game
Number of players: 10 or more
Location: playing field (usually outside)
Equipment: none
Duration: a few minutes per round
Preparation: none

British Bulldog is a tag game for groups of almost any size bigger than 10.

Equipment

You don't need any equipment to play that game.

Procedure

One player starts as chaser. He is standing on one end of the playing field, the other players on the opposite side. After the staring signal (or as soon as the chaser starts), all players try to reach the opposite side (so the chaser has to get from A to B, while all the others have to get from B to A). During that, the chaser can tag the other players. However, a simple touch (tag) does not suffice: the catcher has to lift the player he wants to tag. All players thus tagged become catchers for themselves and catch the other players (starting with the next round).

Usually, all players may only run "forwards", so chasing them to their "safe haven" (at the end of the playing field) is not possible.
