1 2 3
Type: attention game
Number of players: two
Location: everywhere
Equipment: none
Duration: arbitrary, few minutes
Preparation: none

1 2 3 is a simple game of attention that requires neither equipment nor preparation. Two players compete each other; of course, several pairs can play at the same time.

Equipment

You don't need any equipment to play that game.

Procedure

The two players repeatedly count from 1 to 3. They alternately pronounce the following number:

Player 1: "one"
Player 2: "two"
Player 1: "tree"
Player 2: "one"
Player 1: "two"
...

This requires attention by both players, not to pronounce the wrong number, but it should be feasible after a few tries. Then, one after the other, the numbers are exchanged by simple movements. Instead of saying "one", the player has to snip with his fingers. The number "two" is replaced by clapping the hands, and number "three" is exchanged by a small hop. So, after the first number ("one") being replaced, the sequence is:

Player 1: snap
Player 2: "two"
Player 1: "three"
Player 2: snap
Player 1: "two"
...

Finally, only movements are made:

Player 1: snap
Player 2: clap
Player 1: hop
Player 2: snap
Player 1: clap
...
