Boxes is a game for two participants, played on a checkered sheet of paper.

Equipment

  • you need (at least) one checkered sheet of paper,
  • each player needs a pen

Procedure

On the aper, a rectangular playing field is drawn (along the lines on the paper, about 10 by 10 boxes wide for starters). Then, the players thicken up the lines of the checkered pattern. Each player may draw only one short line, then it's the next players turn.

Whenever a player finishes a box, he owns it (usually, he writes his initials into the box). In the end, the player with most boxes wins the game.
